In November of 2007 Mid-America Contracting, Inc. was founded and established to provide Management expertise, financial control, and quality processes to our various construction based operating divisions. November 8, 2007 the assets of Michael’s Basement Company, Inc. were acquired. The name was changed to d/b/a Michael’s Basement Company (Michael’s). Michael’s was originally founded in 1987 by Richard Michael and has installed 1000’s of quality basements in the Kansas City are. They have established a premier reputation for pouring foundation walls, retaining walls, and footings.
Concrete water proofing and water resistance assets were acquired in 2008 and Michaels has begun offering waterproofing as an extension of its foundation business. In order to further expand our presence in concrete, GMP Flatwork, LLC, was acquired by Mid-America Contracting, Inc. June 10, 2008. The name has been changed to MAC Flatwork division. GMP has been doing flatwork, both grey and decorative since 1992 for residential, commercial and agricultural applications.
